This map "depicts North and South America, the west coast taken north to Cap Mendocin and Cap Blanc with a note, 'Entree decouverte par Martin d'Aguilar'" (Tooley). The present copy is an example of the first state of the map; the map would be re-issued by Buache circa 1745 with a floral garland around the cartouche.
