In the early 20th century, the Companie Generale Transatlantique offered crossings between Marseille and Algiers, creating a tourist circuit in North Africa in the 1920s. One could make the trip in just twenty hours. Although unsigned, this poster is the work of a talented artist as evident by the details of the clothes worn by the passengers on deck, from the colorful caftan to the natty suit and headwear of the passengers to the wicker deck chair and the precise shoreline with its trees and mountains. This is the German version. Rare.
