A scarce and unusual poster promoting the virtues of bus travel as a way to see America. This particular coach depicted traveling through an American desert is a Flexible Vista Liner VL-100, which came into service around 1954 and was touted as "The Bus of the century." A contemporary promotional brochure explained that the model featured "Torsilastic spring action: the new torsilastic springing system on the VL-100 is one of the greatest ride developments ever introduced to intercity highway travel. This entirely new principle levels the load and makes the road a ribbon of velvet."
