Canadian National Railways was formed in 1918, and ultimately became a conglomeration of many smaller railway companies. In 1923, when it took over the Grand Trunk Railway, it became the largest Canadian railway company (taking control of the three coast-to-coast rail lines in Canada - The Canadian Pacific, which was the first, Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Canadian Northern Railway). Pictured are two of the gems which were part of the Grand Trunk Railway, Ottawa's Chateau Laurier and Lodge at Jasper Park. The Continental Limited was inaugurated by the CNR in 1920.
