27 1/4x39 3/4 inches, 69 1/4x101 cm. Richter & Co., Napoli.

A stock image featuring the Valdivia (launched in 1911) that originally appeared with a large text panel underneath, advertising travel by three vessels of the SGTM between Italy and South America (specifically the routes between Naples and Montevideo, Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro). The image appears in two variations, one with Mount Etna in the background, as seen here, and another featuring one of the major South American lighthouses. This image bears a 1922 overprint in silver ink for crossings on the Plata, a ship that served the company from 1907-1931.
