The Olympic assumed the mantle as the largest ocean liner in the world upon the sinking of her sister ship, the ill-fated Titanic. She held that title only briefly, until 1913, when her size was surpassed by the launching of the German SS Imperator, which went into service in June 1913. We can date this poster based on the days of the week and dates provided on the poster, which were for the 1913 calendar year. Furthermore, after a refit in 1913, which, among extra first class amenities, added additional safety features in light of the Titanic disaster, the Olympic's gross tonnage rose to 46,439 tons. Previously unrecorded. We could not find other copies at auction nor in institutional collections.
