DESIGNER UNKNOWN "KLM" ROYAL DUTCH AIR LINES / AMSTERDAM - BATAVIA. 1934.
28x34 1/4 inches, 71x87 cm. Mouton & Co., The Hague.
Condition B+: tears and staining at edges; minor creases in margins and image. Paper.
The Fokker F.XXXVI, pictured here, seated 32 and was the largest passenger plane built by the company. It also proved to be less efficient than expected, and only one aircraft, the PH-AJA, was constructed. "KLM planned to use [this aircraft] by 1934. But by the time the first and only model was ready the airline had decided to use more efficient Douglas DC-2s along its route" (Fly Now! p. 125). A rare aviation document of a short-lived aircraft in the early years of commercial aviation. Fly Now! p. 124.
