Condition B- / C+: repaired tears and restoration along vertical and horizontal folds and in image; restored losses, creases, abrasions, staining and discoloration in margins and image. Contrary to the threatening image depicted on the poster, this is the story of a wounded Gorilla who is befriended and raised by a little girl in the African jungle and becomes her protector. This French version is almost identical to the image used on the American poster except here it is a full-color stone lithograph and larger in size. Beauty and the Beast p. 38.
