A refreshing throwback to the delightful days when alcohol advertising was not so restrictive. On the contrary, it is a joyful invitation to over-indulge. Even the name itself, Encore encourages the consumer to imbibe another glass or more. The product's tag-line "the purest of stimulants" is indicative of similar boasts by liquor companies in an era when most liquors claimed to be reinvigorating, digestive and healthy. The image itself is well drawn and graphic representation of a proud Scotsman in full ceremonial garb. It is a brightly-colored, decorative and graphic image for a drink that was certainly not a major brand. It was most likely one of the many companies launched during the mid-1890s in the whiskey industry boom, which only lasted until 1898.
