"This poster shows how the towers dwarfed the surrounding architectural landscape, and points to the evolution of the Financial District by including the old and the new side by side. . . While the poster is undated, it had to be printed prior to the installation of an enormous antenna on top of the North Tower in 1979" (New York p. 235). "The most curious aspect of this design is the unexpected use of the Peignot typeface to spell out New York. Designed by A.M. Cassandre in 1937, it does not have a lower case" (ibid.).
