DESIGNER UNKNOWN URUGUAY / VERANEO IDEAL. Circa 1940. 40 1/8x28 1/2 inches, 102x72 1/2 cm. Inpresora Uruguaya. Condition B+: repaired tears, restored losses and restoration in margins, corners and image. An almost dead ringer for Eggleston's iconic poster advertising travel to Atlantic City, it would seem that a Uruguayan printing company found an image they liked and altered the figure's setting to suit their needs. A close comparison of the two images shows that they are virtually identical (background excluded) down to the ripple of the waves and people on the beach.
