Ikarie XB 1 was a 1963 Czechoslovakian film released in the United States the following year as Voyage to the End of the Universe. It is a science fiction adventure about the trials and tribulations of the crew on a starship bound for a planet in a distant galaxy. While the film does convey subtle socialist philosophies that would have been in line with the political climate in the country of its origin, it can also be said to have at least partially influenced Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and perhaps Gene Rondenberry's conception of Star Trek as well. Not only was the movie was dubbed into English for its American release, but even the actors names were anglicized on the poster.
