The final years of the Works Progress Administration overlapped with America's involvement in the Second World War, and many of the posters produced by the WPA in 1942 and 1943 were geared towards the war effort. While this poster predates the universally recognized Rosie the Riveter, it is predicated on the same wartime need to have women join the workforce to replace men who have joined the military and gone overseas to fight. Rare. Resnick 44.
