Morris (born 1928) studied zoology at Oxford and began his career in the television industry. During the 1950s, he studied the picture-making abilities of apes and both created and hosted several television programs on zoology topics for Granada TV, London. Morris wrote The Naked Ape: A Zoologist's Study of the Human Animal, 1967, and also became an accomplished artist with a Surrealist style, exhibiting his work at the Taurus Gallery, Oxford.
