Higginson. 12mo, publisher's cloth with silver or gilt-stamped lettering and "Indian Pipes" floral motif on covers, Poems is a first printing, Myerson's Binding A, some toning to spine and edges of covers, mild blistering, but overall quite bright; Second Series in bevelled grey cloth, light surface wear and rubbing, owner's erased pencil notes on front endpaper; Third Series in BAL Binding 1 ("Roberts Bros" on spine) in unbevelled boards, with very minor soiling, all edges gilt, other volumes top edges only gilt; all laid into cloth chemise and 1/4 gilt-lettered green morocco slipcase. first editions of dickinson's first three books of poetry. Printed in runs of 500, 960, and 1000, respectively. Though seven of her poems were published in magazines during her lifetime, these posthumous volumes represent her first published collections of verse.
