DIE FLACHE. Bound volume of twelve 16 page portfolios. 1902.
12 1/2x8 1/4 inches. Anton Schroll, Vienna.
Condition A-: cover stained with small tears and abrasions. Contents loose and shaken.
A most extraordinary design magazine, founded in 1900 by Bruno Seuchter, straight from the heart of the Secession movement. 192 profusely illustrated lithographed pages entirely in color, of designs for posters, textiles, jewelry, carpets, books and more. The works reproduced are by such masters as Auchentaller, Exler, Klimt, Moser, Krenek, Roller, Schufinsky and many other prominent Viennese artists. Although this copy is numbered "band I, heft 2" we found scant reference to any other editions or volumes, making this not only a gorgeous document but extraordinarily rare.
