copy number 74 of 90 numbered copies signed and numbered by dine. Printed on Zerkall Litho paper; from a total edition of 100. Printed by the artist and Kurt Zein, Vienna. The prints are Dine's interpretations of the classical sculpture in the Munich Glyptotek. "These are not academic studies of stone sculptures. Rather than recording them as ancient carvings, through his graphic transformation Dine willed them back to their original state of living beings . . . the urgency of the line, the exaggerated tonal variations, the large scale, and the obvious link to the great monuments in Western art history result in an expressive power that hits the viewer with full force"--Feinberg, Jim Dine, New York: Abbeville Press, 1985, page 87.
