Dodger and Oliver. 3 cel animation setup for Oliver and Company, 1987. 10 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches.

This is a setup of three hand painted animation cels from the classic 1987 Disney film, Oliver and Company, featuring the film's central animal characters Dodger (voiced by Billy Joel) and Oliver when they first meet. The unusually large cel image spans nearly the entire width of the 12 field cels.

The matching scene appears around the 7 min 20 sec mark, when Dodger tries to rope the kitten into a scheme to steal hot dogs from a New York City street vendor. This misadventure ultimately segues into Billy Joel's performance of the film's centerpiece song "Why Should I Worry."

The setup bears the metallic foil seal in keeping with officially released Disney cels of that time.

A background print related to the scene is included for presentation purposes.

Condition: Cels are in overall very nice shape, the garbage can lid has very mild paint loss, which does not significantly detract from the image.
