Written in response to Meares's 1790 account of a voyage to the North West Coast of America, Dixon vehemently disagreed with Meares's depiction of his actions and the region. The work set off a series of printed letters between the two, all of great scarcity. Only one copy of Dixon's Remarks has come to auction in the last 20 years. Howes D364; Sabin 20361.<
