Additional Details

first edition, issue on larger, thicker paper with the appendix plates hand-colored. Dixon, who had accompanied Cook on the Third Voyage, undertook this expedition to establish a British presence in the region's fur trade, as well as to more accurately map and explore the Northwest coast and Nootka Sound. This narrative is comprised mostly of letters written by William Beresford. Copies like the present one on thicker paper and with the colored plates are more scarce and more desirable. Howes D365; Sabin 20364; Wickersham 6574; Lada-Mocarski 43; Hill 117.
