Feiffer commentary: I met him when he was, he and his wife, Luisa, came over to the States from Italy where they lived in Rome. He was a count, real nobility. He spent the better part of his life in New York City, working for magazines such as Sports Illustrated o Fortune with art director Leo Lionni. My friend Domenico was movie star handsome and his wife was beautiful. The two of them, when they walked into a room, or through a George Plimpton party, the whole conversation would stop because they were extraordinary. He was one of the nicest, kindest, most generous hearted people I've ever known, and he drew to like a dream.
Norton Juster's book, Alberic the Wise and Other Journeys was illustrated by the brilliant, now deceased, artist and illustrator. This is from the story "Two Kings." He did a beautiful job on Norton's book, but beautiful was what he did on everything he touched. He was a remarkable talent who died very young of cancer. He was a great loss.
