Influenced by greats like Gil Elvren and Norman Rockwell, Rust (born 1932) paints everything from portraits to nature studies to racy pin-ups. This image of a spicy redhead in a phone booth, very much in the style of Elvgren's calendar girls, was appropriated for a number of commercial purposes including shower curtains, mugs, and T-shirts.
