Second edition of the "first American history of the whole country"--Howes D436 ("aa"). Douglass was a physician from Scotland who had settled in Boston. His "Digression Concerning the Small-Pox" which concludes Volume II is a highlight. This is the first edition to include the map by Thomas Jefferys, not present in all copies.
