Additional Details

first edition, ordinary-paper edition. Virtually unobtainable in the original dust jacket. The large-paper copy (of an edition of 190) is more common. While copies of the so-called "ordinary edition" appear occasionally at auction, they are invariably compromised and lack the dust jacket. The jacket image is that of Conan Doyle disguised as Professor Challenger. A true scarcity.
