Album containing 35 elegant photographs depicting the "Bal Masque Vert," which was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. H. Edward Manville on January 4, 1921 at the Ritz Carlton by the photographer Dupont. Platinum prints, sizes ranging from 7 1/2x6 1/2 to 9 1/4x7 1/4 inches (19x16.5 to 23.5x18.4 cm.), and two the reverse, on the original mounts; one with Albert Dupont's (the photographer's) signature, in white ink, on print recto. Tall folio, 1/2 leather gilt-lettered green boards, worn, lacking rear board and backstrip; disbound. signed and inscibed by the manvilles to donn barber, the ball's decorator. 1921

The N. Y. Times deemed the "Green Mask Ball" the social event of the season. H. Edward Manville was the uncle of the nortorious playboy, Tommy Manville. Nearly all of the images depict celebrants posing in green evening or costume wear.
