First separate edition, octavo, half-title and publisher's advertisements present, illustrated with two engraved folding maps and four woodcut illustrations; bound in publisher's dark green blind-stamped cloth, spine lettered in gilt, with yellow coated endpapers, edges untrimmed; offsetting and two small closed tears to the margin of the first map, two-inch closed marginal tear and foxing to second map, marginal foxing throughout, heaviest toward the rear; rebacked preserving original spine, extremities bumped, endpapers stained; 9 1/4 x 5 3/4 in.
