Folio, an abridged translation of the Commentarios Reales and the Historia General de Peru, one of four editions which were first issued in London in 1688 (priority undetermined); this issue with "First Part" and "Scond Part" [sic] on the title page; title printed in red and black; engraved portrait of the translator Paul Rycault (1629-1700) bound opposite title; illustrated with ten full page plates; bound in slightly later speckled calf, rebacked, each board with a gilt-tooled P bearing a crown, the ownership emblem of William Arthur, Sixth Duke of Portland, with his armorial bookplate inside the front board, along with that of Alberto Parreño and W.A. Herz; rebacking work worn; 12 3/4 x 7 1/2 in.
