Small 12mo printed book of 6 signatures followed by 32 leaves of manuscript notes in Italian containing prayers for the mass; bound in full contemporary scarlet velvet with ivory velvet fabric overlaid; all minutely embroidered in metallic thread and sequins on boards and spine, an ornate composition involving flowers, fern shapes, and other festoons; housed in a custom contemporary red morocco case with paste-paper interior; elaborately tooled in gilt; some wear, a charming presentation, nicely preserved; 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.
