First edition in parts, mixed issue, 20 monthly parts in 19 octavo booklets; illustrated with 40 plates by Hablot K. Browne; bound in original wrappers (offsetting to all plates from tissue guards, some with marginal foxing and toning; occasional small stains; many with repairs to spine, some soiling and minor short tears to edges as usual, part I starting, part XVIII with repaired tears to lower wrapper); all contained in a custom chemise and half morocco pull off box; 9 x 5 1/2 in.

Additional Issue Points: "Captain" corrected on p. 324 of part XI, "if" on p. 426 and the numbered p. 431 in part XIV, with 12-line errata in part V, and the earlier 2-line errata in part XIX/XX; with four parts in later issue wrappers; all advertisements present as called for in about half of the parts, with the others being later issue, mis-ordered, or lacking altogether.
