Two 12mo volumes bound together, first title page printed within border of type ornaments, final two blanks integral and present [L3 & L4], C10 with small rust hole; Essayes in Divinity with dedication to Sir Henry Vane cancelled [A3-A7]; with Humphrey Moseley's eight page catalogue bound after second volume; tear (paper flaw?) with loss to sidenotes of on E1 (page 73/74), H11 & H12 not completely opened by the binder's knife at the fore-edge; bound in full contemporary English blind-ruled sheepskin with original paper label, beautifully preserved and unsophisticated; the Sheppard copy with silhouetted sheep stamp and the number 30 on ffep; ex libris Richard Jennings; Apsley Cherry-Garrard; the Pirie copy, with bookplate, purchased by Pirie from Quaritch in the early 1970s; 5 3/4 x 3 1/4 in.
