Chahine (1874-1947) was an Armenian artist born in Venice, known chiefly for his elegant etchings of Parisian Belle Epoque society. He studied in Paris and Venice during the late 1800s. Whistler's influence is manifest in this set of 50 etchings of Venice, mostly views of out-of-the-way places in the city that Whistler also preferred. Tabanelli 180-229.
