Air Union was founded in 1923, and in 1927, the company began passenger service between Paris and London on the luxurious "Rayon d'Or" or Golden Ray. The plane pictured is the Leo 213 (Liore et Olivier). In 1933, the largest existing French airline companies, Air Orient, Société Générale Transport Aérien, Cidna, Compagnie Générale Aéropostale and Air Union merged into a single corporate entity: Air France.
