Maurus designed a selection of powerful Art Deco travel images, mostly for Air France and other airline companies. His image for the United States Lines is more about suggestion than representation. From depicting only the wake and a sky-high plume of smoke, Maurus is calling on the viewer to imagine the ship that could, literally, make these waves.
