Framed between green palms with orange flowers, the French Line steamer Columbie prepares to dock. On the shore below, Caribbean locals in a colorful array of outfits dance and swim against a striking yellow sky. Collin was a painter and art teacher who studied under Maurice Denis at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris. In the 1950s he became the artistic director for the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique and designed a number of posters for the company. This is the French version.
