Born in Switzerland, Herzig moved to Algeria when he was in his twenties and made his home there, in Kabylie. He was a painter and an illustrator and may be best remembered for his work in the Algerian Pavilion of the 1925 Art Deco Exhibition in Paris. Orientalist p. 39.
