In 1929, the newly founded Kohler Aviation Company began operating regularly scheduled flights across Lake Michigan, connecting Milwaukee and Muskegon. The flight, a "bridge across Lake Michigan," took less than an hour and a half, saving more than 12 and a half hours from the land-route around the lake. The airline operated Loening C-2 Air Yacht amphibian airplanes. These unconventional-looking aircraft were open-cockpit and could accommodate six passengers. In 1931, the line was extended to Detroit. Direct transfer from plane to train enabled travelers from Milwaukee to have a direct connection as far East as New York City. By the Mid-1930s, the airline was out of business. This is the only known copy of this poster to ever come to auction. extremely rare
