EDWARD M. EGGLESTON (1882-1941)

ATLANTIC CITY / AMERICA'S GREAT SEASHORE RESORT / PENNSYLVANIA RAILROAD. Circa 1935.

40¼x24¾ inches, 102¼x62¾ cm. O. Co., Clifton, N.J.
Condition A. Framed.

Eggleston designed three posters for the Pennsylvania Railroad promoting travel to Atlantic City. The others promote the New Jersey seaside city as America's "All-Year Resort." Facing north, this image captures the magnificent and diverse hotels along the boardwalk, including the recognizable Chalfonte, Marlborough-Blenheim and the Traymore. He also provides a snapshot of the colorful bustle along the boardwalk and the activity of bathers on the beach.
