Dressed in his university colors, a young man is walking with a woman past a poster announcing an upcoming football game. The first Harvard vs. Yale football game (a rivalry that is simply referred to as "The Game,") was played in 1875, and more closely resembled rugby than football as we know it. That year, Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Columbia founded the Intercollegiate Football Association, which eventually dissolved in 1894. The next year, a rules committee headed by football pioneer, Walter Chauncey Camp was formed. In 1894, Yale beat Harvard 12-4. This is one of the earliest American Football Posters. Kiehl 155, DFP-I 338.
