EDWARD PENFIELD (1866-1925) HARPER'S NOVEMBER. 1896. 18x13 1/2 inches, 45 3/4x34 1/4 cm. Condition A-: minor repaired tears, abrasions and restoration along vertical and horizontal folds and in margins and image. Matted. The speckling effect, apparent in this poster, was done directly on the zinc plates from which it was printed. The richness of the texture and stippling is a tour-de-force of printing in three different subtle shades (the background, the horse and the interior of the buggy).
