The first Harvard vs. Yale football game (a rivalry that is simply referred to as "The Game,") was played in 1875, and more resembled rugby than football as we know it. That year Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Columbia founded the Intercollegiate Football Association, which dissolved in 1894. The next year a rules committee headed by football pioneer Walter Chauncey Camp was formed. In 1894 Yale beat Harvard 12-4. This is one of the earliest American Football Posters.
