Stephen Cohen Gallery, Los Angeles; to the Collection of Neil Robert Berzak

Weston noted having made twenty-two prints in his log. He summarized this feeling about this photograph when he wrote Nancy Newhall in 1945 stating that he would not permit its omission from his retrospective at the Museum of Art: it is "one of my earliest and finest rocks."
