Silver print, the image measuring 9⅜x7⅜ inches (23.8x18.7 cm.), the mount 15x13¼ inches (38.1x33.7 cm.), with the Negative by Edward Weston stamp with Cole Weston's signature in pencil, and the title, negative notation "30P," and negative date also in pencil, on mount verso.

Tenderly, Edward inscribed the print of this he gave to Sonya Noskowiak, his student, companion, and lover:
"a mi querida [to my dear lady] and apprentice --/whose early work show promise/of an important future./She discovered this pepper for me --/watched the long struggle to see it well--/I dedicate the first print to Sonia with/my love /Edward/Carmel--August 1930."
