Edwin Fulwider was a well known and respected artist identified with the state of Indiana and an important part of the American Scene painting movement. He was best known for his subject matter focusing on the train in the American landscape and was a frequent exhibitor at the annual exhibitions of his day: Cincinnati Art Museum, 1940-41-49-50-51-52; Dayton Art Museum, 1944-1950; John Herron Art Museum, annually 1935-52; Art Institute Of Chicago, 1940-1941; and the Golden Gate International Exposition, San Francisco, 1939.
