Clark was known for his careful and dedicated images devoted to the history of upstate New York's Mohawk Valley. Funded by the WPA, he created a series of murals for various public buildings in Utica in the 1930s. The illustrations here celebrate two major attractions in Utica--the fourth New York State Fair and its horse racing track.
