Huber was an Austria-born ceramicist, sculptor, installation artist and designer. In 1931, on a solo boat trip, a serendipitous storm blew his boat across the strait to the island of Rhodes, where he ended up settling down for the next 25 years. There, he became the artistic director of the Industria Ceramiche Artistiche Rodio Orientali (I.C.A.R.O.), founded in 1928 to bring a tourist industry to the island. Illustrating the home he loved, Huber designed this map poster (here, titled in French), while he lived on Rhodes, featuring most prominently the Colossus.
