Paper. An architecture student at M.I.T., Bird took his drafting skills and turned to graphic design, working for such publications as the Inland Printer, the Chap Book, The Red Letter and The Century, as well as several publishers. He designed posters advertising the magazines he worked for, books and this poster exhibit. His style was agile, changing from illustrative to decorative, such as this excellent example of Bradley-influenced, American Art Nouveau, née Arts and Crafts design. Kiehl 6, Margolin p. 21.
