Color linoleum cut on cream wove paper, 1969. 889x692 mm; 35x27 1/4 inches, full margins. Artist's proof, one of 10 artist's proofs, aside from an edition of 40. Signed, dated, titled and insribed "A/P V" in pencil, lower margin.

Provenance: the estate of Varnette B. Honeywood; Los Angeles: private collection, New York.

This iconic print is composed of multiple prints of blocks, including I am the Negro Woman, part of her same-titled 1946-47 series. Another artist's proof impression is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A later edition was printed in lithography in 2004.
