This impression is a fine, early proof, with the small 'X' in the lower left corner of the block printed clearly. The impression is similar to an artist's proof dated 1957 in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Catlett became a member of the Taller de Gráfica Popular (TGP) in 1949.
