Cast bronze, with a bluish patina, mounted on a wooden base, circa 1994. Approximately 394 mm; 15 1/2 inches high, not including the base. Edition size not known. With an engraved plaque on the base, inscribed "Associated Black Charities presents to Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee The Immortal in honor of Frederick Aldridge and Abbie Mitchell February 2, 1994".
Provenance: gift to Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee; thence by descent to her estate.
This bronze was the first of this bronze award presented to Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee by Associated Black Charities. It has been presented to BCA awardees since 1994.
