Holder Hall was erected in 1909 on the unmarked graveyard of the family of one of the college's earliest benefactors, Nathanial Fitz Randolph. Designed by Day and Klauder and funded by Margaret Olivia Sage, widow of the financier, Russell Sage, and named after Christopher Holder, a 17th century American Quaker.
